About the Department

Civil Engineering is a rewarding, people-oriented profession. Civil Engineers have a positive impact on the quality of peoples’ lives. They call upon science & engineering principles to plan, design, build & maintain infrastructures, like buildings, roads & highways, tunnels, bridges & railway systems, dams and barrages, airports, water reservoirs, storm water drainage & control plants. They are also entrusted to control floods & regulate water for irrigation. Any student, having interest in science & technology also has a passion to improve our society, would be a good civil engineer. Civil Engineers are also in great demand. So, if you want a secured engineering field that offers challenges & enjoyment of problem solving, you can be a civil engineer. Civil Engineers are central figures in community development, without their unique talents, communities would not grow & prosper.

The department started its journey in the year 2013 with an intake of 60 students. It has been duly approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

Students of this department are taught in such a manner that they will not need any bridge course before or after joining in any organization. Practical oriented teaching is our motto.  Faculty members of this department are combination of vast experience and expertise. The department offers state-of-the-art infrastructure to the students who take admission to the course.
